That seemed like a lot until I realized.. You can pay for the recipe in 1.5 hours of fishing, after that, it's pure profit @ 50-80g and hour. That's selling the cooked fish @ 1.2 - 1.5g ea. Even at 1.5g ea, I can't stock the auction house fast enough. The only drawback is that fishing gets old real fast, so I generally make 1 trip/ week to restock the guild coffers as required.
